Pl@ntNet Microprojects
A microproject is a specific adaptation of the Pl@ntNet tool to a particular flora, defined by a precise geographical location or a dedicated theme. By joining a microproject, you focus your searches on an associated list of species, which guarantees more precise results better suited to your needs. Furthermore, microproject leaders can efficiently collect, analyze, and manage all observations shared within this framework.
When a microproject is geolocated, the application can automatically offer access to users located within the defined perimeter, provided geolocation is activated. This feature promotes targeted exploration of plant biodiversity.
How to implement a microproject?
-
Prepare a species list: Implementing a microproject requires access to the list of species of interest for the project. This list, including the Latin names of families, genera, and species, allows you to evaluate the number of species already illustrated in Pl@ntNet. It is an essential step in defining the objectives of the microproject.
-
Necessary investment: Creating a microproject requires a financial investment to cover implementation and maintenance costs. We offer our partners to co-finance these costs according to the following scale:
- Implementation cost: €2,000 + (€5 x number of species).
- Example: A microproject on 200 species will cost €3,000 (€2,000 + (€5 x 200)). This amount covers the engineering time required for data formatting and integration.
- Annual maintenance cost:
- €1,000 per year for projects up to 1,000 species.
- €1 extra per species beyond 1,000 species.
- Example: A microproject of 2,000 species will have an annual maintenance cost of €2,000.
- Implementation cost: €2,000 + (€5 x number of species).
